The accounting industry has traditionally been a pretty slow paced one. The emergence of cloud systems has changed the accounting landscape dramatically in a relatively short period of time. Some accountants have managed to keep up to speed and now offer a great quality consulting service in recommending & implementing cloud solutions for their clients. But the majority are so busy managing their day-to-day workflow to stop and realise the real benefits that cloud based systems can deliver for their clients.
They have however been fairly quick to realize the benefits that having their clients using a cloud based accounting system (e.g. Xero) can offer their firm; more efficient compliance processing, less time spent retrieving and restoring files and live access to client’s data in order to provide greater value add services. Whilst it’s great to see accountants helping their clients move to cloud based accounting systems, this really is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a whole add-on marketplace of systems available that can provide huge efficiencies for every kind of business.
We’ve seen clients using Xero yet continuing to prepare paper invoices for clients, employees still preparing paper time sheets and bookkeepers hired by accounting firms to reconcile transactions to a shoebox full of receipts and invoices (then charging an arm and a leg for the ‘service’).
This is not how cloud systems are designed to transform your business!
If you’ve made the smart decision to make the move to the cloud we suggest you do it properly. If you’re a business using Xero and not currently using any other add-ons, you’re probably missing out on the real benefits of making the move. You should contact us today.
If you’re an accountant who wants to help their clients reap the benefits of cloud technology without risking losing them as a client (in fact strengthening your relationship) – we’d love to help.
