I’m still surprised by how many hospitality & retail business I walk into and see the same eyesore day-in-day-out:
- Enormous monitor on the counter
- Cash draw under th monitor (possibly secured under the counter)
- Receipt printer (hopefully)
- EFTPOS (not integrated with POS)
For many of these business the reality that the hardware and software they’re working with is now obsolete is a bitter pill to swallow due to the significant investment of time and money they’ve made in the past.
The reality now is that a cloud based point of sale is relatively inexpensive to setup and you can be up and running within a day or two everything going to plan. And the benefits of a cloud based, iPad POS can be enormous;
Integrate with your accounting data for timely information
Integrate with your EFTPOS terminal to eliminate rekeying errors and reduce customer wait time
Collect customer data (names, emails, etc) to add to your data base and build loyalty and repeat customers
iPad doubles as a check in point for staff utilising something like Deputy or Tanda.
Cloud POS systems like Kounta and Vend are terrific options for hospitality and retail businesses respectively and worth investigating if your still working with a legacy POS.
